Aug 20 - 24   2012

Day 1 Aug. 20                                                  
A travel day as we leave for Elkins, W.V. to our first nights destination. We will roll through the hills of Ohio into Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.   We will Dine in Elkins and then be entertained with some down home country music  before retiring for the night.

Day 2  Aug. 21
This morning, after breakfast  we will go to the American Mountain Theater for the morning show.   After the Show we will board the Cheat Mountain  Salamander Train for a very scenic ride with stops along the way through beautiful West Virginia mountains.   After enjoying our box Lunch  on the train we will meet our motor coach which will take us to the town of Durbin for a ride on the steam powered Durbin Rocket.   Returning to Durbin we will dine at a nice restaurant (a part of your tour package) and then attend our final show at the American Mountain Theater.

Day 3 Aug. 22
This morning we will pack up and leave Elkins on our way to beautiful Holmes County Ohio, home of a vast Amish settlement.   Here we will stop in Dover at the amazing Warther’s Museum.  We don’t want to share with you at this time, this little jewel as we would like to surprise you as you  experience the amazing work of “Moonie Warther.  That evening we will enjoy great Amish cooking at one of the famous Amish restaurants before settling into our comfy lodging for the night.

Day 4 Aug. 23
Today we will  delight to see near countless farmers with their buggies and horse drawn implements working in the rich Ohio farm land.   For those of us in this modern age it is quite a sight to see the great industrial labor that can be observed in the work ethic of the Amish as they do it the way our great grandfathers did in days gone by.   We will take a ride in an Amish Buggy and let our imagination wander a bit and imagine what it would be like if this were our only transportation today.   We will visit an Amish Farm, Amish Markets, Amish Cheese Factory and more.  Tonight, after our evening meal,  we will play Ron’s Let’s Make a Deal and give away valuable prizes as well as the opportunity to win CASH.  It is a fun time and who knows, you may be one of the lucky winners

Day 5 Aug. 24
We will have a few hours this morning to wrap up our visit with the Amish in beautiful Holmes County, Ohio.  Mid day we will board our motor coach for the ride home with many cherished memories and some wonderful new friends that we have made on another exciting Overland Tour.
